What the research says
A 2016 Cochrane review found that adding acupuncture to usual care reduced how often migraine attacks occur, and that acupuncture may be about as effective as preventive medication. A separate analysis of 39 trials found benefits for chronic headache compared with sham and no acupuncture.

- Headaches linked to stress or poor sleep
Our approach
Dr. Su combines body and scalp acupuncture with attention to triggers such as sleep, stress, screen time, and neck tension. Keeping a simple headache diary between visits helps you and Dr. Su see what is changing.
When to seek emergency care

Frequently asked questions
What happens at the first visit?
Dr. Su reviews your health history, current symptoms, and goals, then completes a hands-on assessment that includes traditional pulse and abdominal assessment. She explains a suggested care plan before acupuncture begins, so you know what to expect.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on how long you have had symptoms, your overall health, and how you respond. Dr. Su will discuss a suggested plan after your first visit and review your progress with you along the way.
Does acupuncture hurt?
Acupuncture needles are very thin. Most people feel a brief pinch, tingling, warmth, or a dull ache at the needle site, and many find the session relaxing. You can tell Dr. Su at any time if something feels uncomfortable.
Does insurance cover acupuncture?
Auto insurance MedPay benefits and Workers' Compensation claims may cover acupuncture, depending on your policy or open claim. Health plan coverage varies, so please contact the clinic before your first visit and we will help you verify your benefits and prepare the billing documentation.
Do you offer care in Chinese?
Yes. Care is available in English and Chinese.
